The aerospace sector, unlike the classic numerical control manufacturing processes, is characterized by minimal tolerances and materials with more complex processing.

Aerospace components, especially the most advanced ones, must therefore meet strict safety standards. Laga is the only company EN9100 certified from the engineering phase to the final product and, as a third party mechanical processing company, we face various challenges every day to process those complex components that are required of us. We document the quality and accuracy of the products, so as to continue to satisfy customer requests in terms of quantity and shorter delivery times.

Mold for spotlight

Too expensive to print only a few pieces? The solution thanks to the use of a multi-cavity mold

PROBLEM:
The customer needed to reduce costs and make only a few pieces
SOLUTION:
The customer had to make a spotlight knowing that he would make a few pieces in a year. The solutions proposed by the market were too expensive. We proposed the creation of a multi-cavity mold with which all the components would be molded. In this case, the construction of the mold was done incorrectly, as in the figure there are several items with very different weights.

Airplane lights are detaching. Problem solved! 

The customer needed to improve the connections of the airplane lights that where breaking due to the vibrations and were risking to detach and fall.
SOLUTION: We were contacted by an important German multinational producing lights that are installed on the wings and the landing gear of the airplane. We were exposed the problem and in a short time we were able to find a productive solution that has allowed us to produce those lights for five years for that client. The lights are not detaching anymore. This project makes us particularly proud because the aerospace sector doesn’t allow mistakes and the production quality is an essential element.

PRODUCTION

Once our proposal has been approved, we will proceed to define the processing cycle and the checks to be carried out at each stage to obtain the required finished product.

CERTIFICATION

After carrying out the checks required for each processing phase, we will certify with a written document the correct execution of the set cycle. All the controls and information acquired during the production phase are saved in the system for the correct traceability of the production process.

We have been ISO 9001 certified since 2013. The primary objective of this standard is customer satisfaction with regard to the products and services provided, as well as the continuous improvement of company performance. During the implementation of this standard, we carried out an in-depth analysis of the context and the stakeholders, this allowed us to identify the risks to be corrected and the opportunities for improvement to be seized.

In February 2020, we achieved certification according to the EN9100: 2018 standard. This defines the specific requirements of the Quality Management System required by the Authorities and Manufacturers of the aerospace and defense sector, starting from the foundations of ISO 9001. Our field of application is “Design and management of the manufacture of molds for die-castings and plastic injection according to customer specifications; engineering and production of parts in non-ferrous metals and plastic materials “. During the certification phase we have developed a Quality System aimed at the continuous improvement of processes, products, services and performances. The commitment to quality, safety and reliability of the services and products offered was enhanced.
