Our story

From 2006 to today, in pictures

LAGA was founded in 2006. In 2009 we took over the building in Mandro, Lodrino, and since then every change has been photographed: the roof, the machines arriving on a truck, the first cut, the paint booth, the yard under snow. This page puts those pictures in order — they are ours, taken while the work was going on.

Sixteen years in Mandro

2009

The building, as it was

October 2009: the first pictures of the building, still full of the previous tenant's machines. This is where it starts.

The first winter

March 2010, snow in the yard. It happens, here in the valley, and work does not stop: you shovel and unload anyway.

Benches, racks, bins

End of 2011: most of the work is assembly and inspection, and the shop floor shows it.

One more bay

January 2012: the new bay opens. Space comes before machines, not after.

The new wing, still empty

September 2013: the new wing is finished. It will not stay empty for long.

2015

The first machining centre

February 2015: the CNC machining centre arrives on a truck and comes in hanging from the crane. This is the step from assembling to machining.

First cut

Two weeks later the machine is in production: tool, coolant, chips.

The second machine

Finishing becomes ours

April 2018: powder coating booth and oven. From here parts leave finished, not to be finished elsewhere.

Laser cutting and marking

2021: the laser machine comes in. It marks parts, which in aerospace must be traceable one by one.

Numbered locations, labels, racks: when a part has to be traceable, order is not decoration.

The metrology room

March 2025: the metrology room is closed in glass. At the end of the month the measuring machine moves in, carried by hand and on a pallet truck.

And today

In 2025 we opened the machining department with two HAAS centres, 3 and 5 axis, the quality room and X-ray inspection. In February 2026 TÜV Italia renewed EN 9100 and ISO 9001; since 9 March 2026 we also hold ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, both for the first time. Numbers and certificates are on the certifications page.

Our parts fly

We work for others: what leaves this building is assembled somewhere else, often on things that fly. These are our own pictures, of the parts and of the places they ended up.

An Airbus A400M standing on the apron

Aerospace. Light units and aluminium components for civil and military aircraft: this is the work the company is EN 9100 certified for.

The detail: landing and taxi lights, machined and treated housings.

On the flight deck. Onboard lighting is one of the programmes we have worked on the longest.

Not only aerospace

The same hands and the same checks, on parts that stay on the ground.

Six identical domes with different finishes: chrome, gold, blue, red

Finishes. The same part, six different treatments: finishing is part of the supply.

Metal structures and parts for design furniture.

The starting point: a raw casting, before machining and finishing.

Two column-shaped furniture pieces, gold and black finish

Design: two columns in gold leaf finish with black rings, ready to be packed.

Sheet metal parts hanging on the rack after powder coating

Just out of the oven: powder-coated sheet metal parts, still hanging on the rack.

Van with open doors and a wrapped pallet inside

And off it goes: the wrapped pallet leaves Mandro.

Cover of the Politecnico di Milano report on LAGA, 2017

2017

A case study at the Politecnico

In the academic year 2017-2018 a group of students from the Supply Chain Management course at the Politecnico di Milano chose LAGA as a case study, for a paper on how suppliers are involved in developing a new product. They spent weeks asking us questions, and the result describes a small company holding together a network of suppliers a few kilometres wide. The paper is theirs; what we kept is a picture of how we worked back then.

2025

A page in the newspaper

In June 2025 Corriere Economia Brescia gave us a page: precision machining, treatments and finishes made with local suppliers for the large aerospace companies. The same week we were in the Mille Miglia special issue as well.

2025

The village

We are among the supporters of the summer programme in Lodrino. The company is here and so are the people who work in it: in the 2025 sustainability report, 58% live in the municipality.

Always

The people

The archive also holds pictures of parties, lunches and visits: the tenth anniversary, customers coming up the valley, trade fairs. We do not publish them here, out of respect for the people in them — on this site we would rather let the parts and the walls do the talking.

Opificio delle idee

Opificio, from the Latin opificium: the place where a raw material becomes a finished product. Here a drawing comes in and a part goes out. The name we gave ourselves, in other languages:

fabbrica delle ideeitfactory of ideasenusine d'idéesfrIdeenfabrikdefábrica de ideasesfábrica de ideiasptideeënfabrieknlfabryka pomysłówpltovárna na nápadycsidéfabrikensvideatehdasfiötletgyárhufikir fabrikasıtrфабрика идейruεργοστάσιο ιδεώνelمصنع الأفكارarמפעל רעיונותhe创意工厂zhアイデア工場ja아이디어 공장koविचारों का कारखानाhiöl fudeneet de le edeeVal Trompia dialect, Lumezzane

The next part gets written with whoever brings us a drawing

If you have a part to be made — cast, machined, painted, assembled — write to us: a 3D model and two pieces of information are enough for a price.
